I accept toshiba satellite c55-a-1u6.
I removed Windows viii.ane and recovery. Not I desire to install Windows 8.i again from usb stick.

I disabled Secure Boot from Bios and fabricated the USB priority 1. Still I cant access the installation page all I got is Checking media...
No bootable device - please restart system

Likewise in that location is no pick to select UEFI or CMS in bios.

Note: Stick is fine. I tried with my asus n53s and its working like a charm.

Equally I look through this problem solver database, I observe that this seems to be a common problem with Toshibas. The boot and repair disks that I made on the first startup are worthless, as the arrangement doesn't recognize them. Three satellites; same problem.

I'one thousand having the same problem - Hard disk was broken, so bought a replacement, bought recovery DVD via Toshiba, wouldn't boot from that. Copied files onto USB drive (and fabricated bootable). Always become the same errors:
checking media [Neglect]
...then...
No bootable determine - please restart

Has anybody got a fix to this? Tried all USB ports, tried disabling secure boot, changed boot society.

Hey Katates, I had the same issue . There is an option to change to CMS after you disable secure boot. Yous demand to access advanced settings and boot settings to observe it . It is a little hidden

Hope this helps

https://rufus.akeo.ie/downloads/rufus-ii.iv.exe

and change partition scheme and target arrangement type to :
GPT partition scheme only for UEFI

and toshiba can only detect USB Boot with UEFi format...

try it.... don't forget to backup your data before.

you must exist make an UEFI Kicking USB Stick using Rufus

-thank you-

This is the but response I take found on ANY web site that addresses the UEFi format issue. Since my BIOS is Ver. i.x, the change UEFi to CMS option is non available. If this process doesnt let me to install Windows 7 - 64 scrap, I am going to throw this slice of Toshiba crap in the trash... and get on with my life. If i had know that Windows viii.i basically turned my estimator into an Apple... i would of just bought and Apple to begin with. Live and Learn.

Hi guys,

could y'all attempt to alter a setting in the BIOS. Enter to the BIOS and modify "advanced- system configuration -boot style" to CSM. Sure, that now you have UEFI.

Later this change, yous could boot from USB.

Good Luck

Attempt to acces on the bios
Clicking f2 at boot of pc
And change the order of bootage, puts usb in first position

If yous do not take access to the bios, come up back on Windows
And launches the Toshiba Setup application.
